The Spark
Reinterpret an ancient Near Eastern cylinder seal as a 3D-printed object that still 'works' — rolling a legible relief into clay.
In Process
Studied Chogha Zanbil seals (three registers, shallow bas-relief; the goddess Inanna) as the source grammar.
The Craft
AI image-gen iterated the relief; a height map plus a custom Blender script wrapped it onto the cylinder for a two-tone Bambu print.
Outcome
The negative-to-positive logic is the hard part — what reads on the cylinder must invert correctly when rolled, so clay-impression tests drove every iteration.
