The Spark
Faculty shouldn't have to teach tools they've never touched. The Virtual Beings workshop put a complete AI character pipeline directly in faculty hands — part of the FRS 'No Experience Necessary' workshop wall, alongside prompt engineering, 3D scanning, and vibe coding.
The Craft
The Virtual Beings sessions (fall 2025) ran a complete character pipeline: Hedra for the being's face and performance, ChatGPT to draft each character's T-pose body-scale reference, and Meshy to lift that reference into a textured, riggable 3D body — with Avaturn scans bringing the faculty themselves into the cast. Elsewhere on the wall, a Blender-MCP bridge let Claude drive Blender directly for 3D-print prep.
Outcome
Faculty left with beings that walk — rigged, animated glTF characters they made themselves — and with the pipeline knowledge to bring the method back to their own classrooms.
